This service is available to anyone over the age of 18 with a valid Instruction Permit, Drivers License, or International Drivers License, and it’s based on student’s personal needs.
Effective July 1, 2014, Public Act 98-167, all first-time drivers over 18 and under 21 years old need to take an Illinois adult drivers education course (6 Hour Course) to earn an Illinois driver’s license. This is for students only who have not taken Drivers Education in High School.
To drive legally in Illinois, you must have a valid driver’s license, instruction permit, Restricted Driving Permit, or Judicial Driving Permit.
